Things that are sooo “Missouri”

As I was driving to and from Missouri this past weekend, I noticed some things that are very prevalent in that state; at least in the southwest portion of the state. These things might be exclusive to the area. They might not.

I don't know how God knew that we'd put a road through there, but it's nice that the distance between them is perfect for a 2 lane road.

Rock Walls: I don't know how God knew we'd put a road there, but it's nice that the distance between them is perfect for a two lane.

The Amish: I'm sure they are other places. I've never seen so many. I stopped at the Dollar General. Me and the cashier were the only one's in there who weren't Amish. I didn't talk to them, but I'm sure they are really nice.

The Amish: I'm sure they are other places, but I've never seen so many as I did on Saturday. I stopped at the Dollar General. Me and the cashier were the only people in there who weren't Amish.

Signs with Bible verses or warnings from God: I wish I could have stopped at all of them and taken a picture. There were just too many.

Another Warning From God

Hillbillies: you aren't a hillbilly because you're from Missouri, but hillbillies are there and loved.

Cows: I know, Cows are everywhere, I just thought this was a neat picture. :-)

Things that have changed since the iPhone

I got an iPhone on Halloween. I remember because it was the day my life changed. I’ve bought gadgets in the past, but none has affected (or is it effected) my life in such a dramatic way. It’s been good and it’s been a little bad. I’ve been chastised for playing around with it too much and I’ve received a lot of attention because it does something cool. Here’s something I was thinking about today. You can be the judge if they are good or bad. It’s just some “funny” stuff I was thinking about.

  1. I want to use every screen as a touch screen. I was using Michelle’s phone the other day and trying to touch the screen to select something. I did it several times before realizing what I was doing.
  2. I never forget a joke (even if I do forget it, it’s usually one google away).
  3. I know the answer to everything (nearly). I can maybe find the answer to everything. MAYBE.
  4. My facebook usage has skyrocketed. It’s a little creepy (I know) that when you post on my wall or comment on my status, I almost instantly know and reply if appropriate. Or if you comment on here, I know almost immediately. Sorry. It’s just what happens.
  5. I talk to Noel more.
  6. I have noticed that I mess around with it when I shouldn’t (e.g. church, parties/get-togethers, work, while driving). Now, I leave it in the truck at church. I have to take it to parties and work because it’s a camera and stuff happens there I want to document. And I’m trying to stop doing it while driving. I certainly won’t mess with it while in heavy traffic, but if I’m on an empty straight road. Yeah, I’ll look at it.
  7. I have something (else) to do in the bathroom.
  8. I always have a camera. My camera stopped working months ago on my old Razr.

I could probably add more. That’s just what I can think of right now.  BTW, I thought of this post while driving and checking my email.
